Day 9: passions and hobbies

For some reason, I had a lot of trouble with this day of the Joy of Lovepassions and hobbies (which is why it’s back-dated a couple days). What is Dorsey truly passionate about, other than food, sleep, & meeting people? None of those seemed like very interesting photographs for this particular theme.  I even had the advantage of a doggie playdate with his BFF, Frankie, and while I got some good photos, none seemed quite right for “passions” or “hobbies.” Then yesterday, Dorsey hoarded some of his bones, as he frequently does, and I thought that expressed his passion for bones and toys. But I didn’t love the few pics I manage to get of that.

So, on Friday, I did a whole shoot of Dorsey with his toys, and eventually got some great photos of him going to town on his doggie lollipop, a puzzle toy I frequently create by sticking a Nylabone into a Kong, sometimes with a dab of peanut butter on the end that goes into the other toy.

As you can see, Dorsey loves his lollipop, both because it smells faintly of PB and because he can easily hold it with his paws. Here are some outtakes, as he was moving around as if I were going to steal it from him.

And here are two photos from his playdate with Frankie:
