Day 6: who they love
Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday, and we had a few friends over to watch the game and eat large quantities of food—everything from chili and pulled pork to beer brats and Buffalo wings. Dorsey was racing around like a maniac as our guests arrived, since that’s who he loves (Sunday’s Joy of Love topic)—just about anyone who will give him attention. (When he was a puppy, we had trouble getting him to walk down the street here in Philly because he couldn’t understand why not everyone stopped to say, “Hello!” to him.)
Soon after I put food on the table, Dorsey started prairie dogging to see if he could grab some grub. I promptly put the Sweater of Shame on him, and he acted like he was paralyzed, standing motionless with one foot in the air. He looked miserable, but he started behaving, just like always. With his pitiful expression, he hopped on the couch and snuggled up to our friend Jay, who has two dogs of his own. Jay petted Dorsey for hours and even gave him an amazing ear massage, which almost made up for wearing the Sweater of Sham. Almost.
Here’s another photo of Jay giving Dorsey the attention he so loves:
Dorsey also conned our friend Erin into giving him some love later in the night, while we watched the post-game episode of Glee. This dog sure knows how to work it!
I took today off because today’s theme was Generations. I’m still trying to figure out how to capture that, since we live hours away from the nearest relative. I think I may use a photo of Dorsey with his late “uncle” Galen, but haven’t quite decided how to incorporate it. Perhaps inspiration will strike overnight.
