Day 2: how they look
Today’s Joy of Love theme is How They Look. I had a mini photo session during lunch with the Dorsey Dog, using treats to pull out some of my favorite facial expressions, including this gem that says, “Mommy, I really want to eat this treat on my paw. Did you forget to release me?”
However, my favorite photo of the day was definitely this one, in which I actually made use of yesterday’s tip about catchlights. (Proof that this online workshop is really helping my photography!)
Dorsey frequently lays his head down on the sofa or my leg in an attempt to look extra cute and get his way (and yes, he totally knows what he’s doing). I decided to play around with using b/w with a splash of color on the treat to highlight his reason for looking so cute.
And, lest you think my dog is my only loved one, here’s a shot of my husband’s most common expression in photos. Other people try to cajole him into smiling, but I’m used to the ridiculous pouty face.

Feb 3, 2011So cute! I am a sucker for dog pictures and these are awesome. I gave up on taking pictures of my husband. That’s why I had kids. LOL

Feb 3, 2011Thanks! I agree, I prefer taking photos of dogs & kids (only I have to borrow the kids from my friends for now). They’re much better models than grown men. 🙂
