Day 19: when they’re gone
I purposely misinterpreted Saturday’s theme of When They’re Gone because Dorsey’s rarely away from the house when we’re home unless he’s with us. Also, I didn’t think a photo of a pair of shoes he wasn’t stealing would be all that exciting. Instead, I decided to show what Dorsey does when WE’RE gone. Thus this photo of Dorsey waiting to go inside the Addison, a condo building where his friend Frankie lives. When we’re going to be gone for more than a few hours, we usually get Frankie’s owner, also named Liz, to keep him for a while. Dorsey loves going over there because he’s always convinced he’ll get an opportunity to steal Frankie’s food.
Once inside, he likes to stake out his claim. He frequently does this by sprawling across Liz’s bed or defending the couch from Frankie invasion.
Note the paw casually placed over Frankie’s toy. Dorsey’s totally trying to make a point.
Here’s an outtake from our shoot outside the building. This is also his expression when he’s waiting for one of us to get home.
