Day 14: jewelry
I really struggled with Monday’s Joy of Love theme of Jewelry, since I already featured Dorsey’s dog tags on Day 4: What They Wear. So this one was a bit of a stretch, but I figured it was okay to do something else that was what he wears, especially since this particular object has rings on it. It’s also something he was wearing (against his will) for much of the weekend, as we had a long car trip to and from Vermont. But I think he was glad we were staying in a dog-friendly hotel and could take him with us.
I took this photo just after our vet visit on Monday, driving up to the top floor of our parking garage to get some sun for interesting lighting effects. I also used a Photoshop action I recently acquired to give the photos a dreamlike quality. John also gave me about 90 seconds to take a few shots of his main piece of jewelry, a cross he wears around his neck. The current incarnation of this jewelry is a contradiction, with an intricate cross hanging on a cheap black string. I didn’t even realize he’d lost the previous cross pendant until I took this photo.
Here’s an outtake from the harness shoot. Dorsey certainly has perfected the faraway pensive look, hasn’t he?
